Storage or Continuous Flow — We Handle Both
Gas hot water systems come in two main types. We repair, service and install both across the Eastern Suburbs.
🔥 Continuous Flow (Instantaneous)
Heats water on demand — no tank, no standby heat loss. Ideal for households that want endless hot water and lower gas bills. Brands include Rinnai, Bosch and Rheem.
🛢️ Gas Storage Tank
Heats and stores a large volume of water ready to use. A reliable, cost-effective option for larger households. Available in natural gas and LPG configurations.
⛽ LPG Systems
Not connected to mains gas? We install and service LPG hot water systems — ideal for properties in areas without natural gas supply.
Gas Hot Water Problems We Fix
Gas systems have their own set of common faults. Our plumbers are experienced with all of them.
Pilot Light Won't Stay Lit
Usually a failed thermocouple or a blocked pilot tube. We carry replacement parts for all major brands and fix it on the spot.
No Hot Water from Continuous Flow
Could be a faulty flow sensor, gas valve, igniter or PC board. We diagnose the exact fault rather than guessing.
Low Gas Pressure
Insufficient gas pressure causes the unit to cut out mid-shower. We test inlet pressure and adjust or replace the regulator.
Flue or Ventilation Issues
A blocked or damaged flue is a safety hazard. We inspect, clear and repair flue systems to Australian Standards.
Leaking Gas Storage Tank
Tanks corrode from the inside out over time. We assess whether a repair is viable or recommend a cost-effective replacement.
Inconsistent Water Temperature
Fluctuating temperatures from a continuous flow unit often point to a dirty inlet filter or failing thermistor — both quick fixes.

Gas Hot Water Questions
Is gas hot water cheaper to run than electric?
Generally yes — natural gas is typically cheaper per unit of energy than electricity in NSW. Continuous flow gas systems are especially efficient as they only heat water when you need it, with no standby losses.
Can you work on LPG as well as natural gas?
Yes, we service and install both natural gas and LPG systems. If you're on LPG we'll make sure the unit is correctly set up for your gas type.
My continuous flow unit cuts out mid-shower — what's wrong?
This is usually caused by low gas pressure, a dirty inlet filter, a faulty flow sensor or an overheating unit. We'll diagnose the exact cause on site.
How long does a gas hot water system last?
Continuous flow units typically last 15–20 years with proper servicing. Gas storage tanks usually last 10–12 years. The sacrificial anode should be checked every 5 years to protect the tank.
Do I need a licensed plumber for gas work?
Yes — all gas work in NSW must be carried out by a licensed gas fitter. Our plumbers hold the relevant licences and all work is certified to Australian Standards.
